Sounds like your default browser is not defined.

I'm not a RedHattie, so I can't tell you how to do that.

You can probably start Web2py from the command line, something like:
python web2py.py -a 'your password' -i 127.0.0.1 -p 8000

Look in the ref manual for more info:
