[web2py] a problem with the symbol " & " in web2py

when i use the symbol " & " in a string like this " &copy " it is
supposed to get the copyright symbol when rendering , but i get the
same string , i found out that web2py converts the sting like " &copy
" to " &ampcopy "

the question is how to stop web2py from converting " ....&...."  to
" ....&amp...." ?
