There is server-side processing available with DataTables... But PowerTables is not implementing it.

I found that the initialisation of datatables could impact the searchbox and columns sorting speed particularly when using FixedColumns.js. Allan is working actually on improving the FixedColumns.js. There is also bScrollInfinite and bAutoWidth that could help improve speed. Read the doc of datatables...
