Erlang is not just a language. When I say Erlang, I mean Erlang/OTP, and OTP is a huge general-purpose framework for networked applications. So effectively you are still comparing frameworks. Language itself is actually beautiful. I thought it was ugly at first, but I obviously no longer think so.
