from mdipierro yes, make a script compile.py from gluon.admin import app_compile app_compile(request.application, request) and run it with python web2py.py -S yourappname -R compile.py I have not tried it but should work. Everything that can be done via admin interface has an API in the gluon.admin module. Let us know if it works.
