The minimum you need is something like Python (pref. 2.5+) and .htaccess. Apache must have support for FastCGI. There are many deployment recipes for specific hosts (e.g. Dreamhost, Webfaction, etc) here: http://web2pyslices.com/main/default/index I have some experience with Bluehost which provides Python 2.6 and .htaccess in a $6.95/month shared hosting package (the default python environment on Bluehost is messed up, you'll have to clear the default site-packages folders from sys.path and set them up yourself). However, fair warning, Bluehost seems slow, at least from my country. Who's your host?
