Speaking of the scripts directory, it looks to me like a cleanup is in order. Some of the scripts could use some comments--they're pretty opaque. Some of them, I suspect, don't work or are way out of date. setup-web2py-fedora.sh, for example. apt-get? Ubuntu? ...and it ought to check that it hasn't been run already. repair.py: isn't that functionality built-in these days (main.py)? etc...
