Just thought I'd chime in.. I recently moved pyforum.org and my blog, techfuel.net to a "micro" instance at amazon (Link: http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2010/09/09/announcing-micro-instances-for-amazon-ec2/), it is Amazon's new "pet" which is a relatively small server (full root, you have to basically admin it yourself via ssh, which *is* a good thing :) but the main reason is that the price tag is incredible affordable @ about $14.00 U.S./month is a steal in my book, the downside is that you get 613Mb of RAM only. Now from hands-on experience, I'll tell you I have 4 web2py sites running, Postgres, Apache, Zope (which is known to be a memory eater), and several static sites; on a heavy loaded day I still have about 230Mb free and the server is taking it like a champ.
In addition to this I will soon post a "recipe" on how I was able to (easily) have multiple sites running on WSGI/Apache (On Linux Fedora and Ubuntu), no additions to routes.py and "hiding" the application url part.. Which leads me to my next question, on web2pyslices.com, I know my password *and* my email, but not my username, can someone tell me who to contact for this information? also, wouldn't it be better if the "username" was the actual email only instead of having multiple "entrty points" on web2pyslices? - just a suggestion.. Thanks!
