My dal was:
db.define_table('category',
Field('name','string'),
format='%(name)s'
)
db.category.name.requires = IS_NOT_IN_DB(db, db.category.name)
The error ocurrs in db.category.name.requires = IS_NOT_IN_DB(db,
db.category.name).
I removed this for the moment.
