I am using InterNote firefox extension (
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2011/)

it is a "post-it" tool, which you can include notes to webpages, alows
various notes per page, I am using a lot to remind things in web2py.com/book

You just have to keep your own "backup" of the notes!
