Nice, this slice does way closer to what i had in mind than my approach.

Haven't tested it, but it's is a lot better to open as a modal jquery
dialog, update the combo without refresh and select the new record
automatically.

In my opinion it should be a feature in web2py, it gives the apps a better
usability(including appadmin).
