Yes. One way to do it is
form=SQLFORM.factory(Field('name'),
Field('gender',requires=IS_IN_SET(('Male','Female'))))
(gender field will be render with select dropbox).
You can embed it in template with
{{=form}}
or customized
{{=form.custom.begin}}
