I installed pywin32 also just now. It got rid of the root lock
warning.

I don't know if that fixed my issue though, cause yesterday I tried
something else first that got me going.

In particular, I had originally installed web2py in c:\users\me\docs
\web2py

then I started working on my new app,

then I wanted a shorter path, so i copied all from c:\users\me\docs
\web2py
to c:\web2py and started working from c:\web2py

this went fine until the security update a couple nights back to my
vista box prevented launch of web2py

I then copied my c:\web2py\applications\myapp to
c:\users\me\docs\web2py\applications\myapp

and ran web2py from c:\users\me\docs\web2py and it works fine.

Dunno if it works from c:\web2py after install of pywin32 Haven't
tried again.
