If you have web2py windows installed, then you have just the binary (it will not use your installed python, rather its own wrapped up one). The python book doesn't mention anything about ipython - it uses a python shell when you invoke a shell, but will use ipython for the shell if you have it installed. I'm not sure how this will work with the windows binary. You need to follow the installation instructions for ipython (simply putting it in scripts is not correct). http://ipython.scipy.org/doc/stable/html/install/install.html WIth or without ipython (which you may find convenient), just run the command web2py.exe -S [myapp] -M replacing [myapp] with whatever your application name is. You will either get ipython, or the plain python shell (with a ">>>" prompt). Either way, you can still check the output of your command - you will be happier when you learn how this works. Let us know how it goes. Regards, - Yarko > I have downloaded ipython installed in python > folder in script , but I don't have a web2py.py file.
