FWIW, I have started blogging about the problems with the
configuration for using web2py with mod_wsgi as it is a good example
of why people who don't know how to use Apache shouldn't tell others
how to use it.

Just documenting that much has taken a while, so you will have to wait
for followup posts for remainder of the problems and a working
configuration.
To be fair, I should point out that as far as I know, Massimo has only
included what someone had previously posted on the web2py list as to
what to use in his book, it wasn't Massimo who came up with it in the
first place.
