If you do a /whois mitsuhiko you will find out that I'm in the IRC
channel of every Python framework and many web related libraries (That
includes django, django-dev, pylons, repoze, python-genshi, python-
babel, sqlalchemy). Normally I'm there for interesting discussions,
experiences from other persons, interesting code snippets. In the
framework channels every once in a while someone is using my stuff and
needs help, for that I have a highlight. If you want to know why I
joined the #web2py channel yesterday is because somewhere I was
reading that such a channel exists, so I joined.

If you read the backlog of the channel from yesterday (I'm sure there
are log somewhere) you will notice that I did not advertise any other
technology nor framework there. My only question was why people are
using web2py and was perplex when the answer was (compared to django)
that web2py was "clean".

Interestingly I got about ten mails about this issue by various
people, most of which I do not know so I feel stalked. Nowhere I
appeared on IRC did this cause such a storm of mails. And that's
remarkable because there was a time where I did advertise my stuff
(for example Jinja on #django) and that never happened.

Please don't let that end in public name calling. To be totally frank:
Neither do I like the web2py code nor the way you advertise it as an
enterprise ready system everywhere. Whenever a discussion on reddit is
about that topic, there is a link in the newsgroup so that other
people can upvote it. I don't know if that's what you're after, but
that puts web2py into a very bad light for many people that consider
this inappropriate behaviour as well.

So no, I'm not there to undermine your project. I'm the same person
there I'm in any other channel. You're welcomed to do the same for any
of the other python-web related channels out there.

Regards,
Armin
