Doesn't this have an unfortunate negative effect on "compiled" views? To be compiled, everything about the view needs to be known ahead of time and your dynamic use of templates seems to defeat that. I suspect when you choose to "compile" the application from the web2py admin interface, these views will remain interpreted, defeating the purpose of compiling the app.
