You are confusing things.
Web2py Task scheduler is like linux cron but more powerfull because you can
task a python function from your code.
Gulp and alike are task automation tools like creating files and folders ,
compiling jade to html or sass to css.
Not the same thing..
and yes you should be able to use gulp with py4web.
