Hi, in order to show the web pages, the web2py-book requires both a modern web2py framework and the pygments Python module. Unfortunately, there is a stupid bug in the current version of the program that gives that error if you are missing the pygments module. I've already fixed it, and I'm making a PR ;-)
Let me know if you still have errors after installing the pygments module. On Ubuntu and python3, I've installed it with a simple "pip3 install pygments".
