I just installed and ran the version you included and I get the same. I do see from the two links that you included that my setup has system events.app in the location mentioned. So the question that I have is what in web2py on seeing system events.app is it going to use it for?
At this point I don't think it harms anything but it is something else I need to keep in mind when playing with web2py. Not a bad thing! So thank you Stifan for taking the time and getting the resources to explain this.
