Not sure what you mean. Why do you want users to go to a new page whose URL includes a JSON representation of the query string from the previous page? If users have a set of saved bookmarks, it does not make sense to keep all the bookmarks in the query string of the URL (i.e., request.get_vars). It makes more sense to store the bookmarks in the db and load them into the session as needed.
