Yes, i know what you mean, you have to start all over again from scratch, believe me, i have tried convert from version 3 to 4, I got lots of unrecognised classes. I have tried to change all classes to version 4 then I realised that is better to start all over again from bootstrap 4, is not worth to update one by one class, even is not going to make smooth due to javascript and jquery lines are not going to work with old code version 3.
