When wanting to make a web gui for a python script, is it then better to
use a python web framework?

I other words is there a better interaction between web2py and python
scripts running on the server, than when using something like RoR to
interact with python scripts. Or does it not matter since you would
probably be communicating via REST anyway?

The reason I am asking is because I want to make a web gui for my videopy
script.
The user should be able to select some videos, then run the script and see
the result.

I am through the first 3 chapters of the web2py book, and I am really
impressed, but I just got curious.
