I have not look into api.. :) it's funny... I've seen only http://rails-engines.org/news/2009/05/18/engines-at-railsconf/ http://en.oreilly.com/rails2009/public/schedule/detail/7785 as far as I understood it is already more or less incorporated in Rail 2.3..
