Hi Robert, this[1] is a openlayers based example I wrote a long time ago for another thread in this list and it uses components I hope it could be of any help. In the example you can substitude the OSM layer with a Google layer (to know how you can have a look here[2]). Anyway you can start from this code example and use another client map library such as Google API, leaflet or other.
