It's negative. Ive seen lots of comments like that, even from friends of mine who write web apps. They tend to be the same kind of ignorant people who made fun of Rails before finally being converted to the idea of MVC for the web, and then made fun of other frameworks that tried to emulate Rails and called them "derivative copies", and now make fun of frameworks that try to be even easier and faster than Rails (like web2py). For some reason a lot of elitist programmers dislike it when someone gets an idea to make something even easier and more accessible. A threat to their job security perhaps? :) They tend to be a vocal minority though. The vast majority of programmers and software engineers appreciate good ideas that make their job easier regardless of the form it takes, especially in its infancy.
