Ahh I'm sorry, I thought you were doing regular queries in a controller. Right now you can't select which fields to get in appadmin what appadmin wants in that input field is just the query. I guess you can open a ticket with a feature request for it because it because it wouldn't be very hard to add that option to appadmin.
