Hello everyone,

I have a little question for you all. I started to learn web2py around a
month ago and, even though I found in it a great potential and a nice code,
I had some issues with the documentation.

All the tutorials around are broken links, lacking of explanation and
sometimes full of errors (for a tutorial I had to follow a second tutorial
that explains how to get through the first).

So alright, I went straight to the web2py official book.

First thing I notice is that online you have 6th edition while the pdf is
the 5th edition. That brought me to use code that Massimo later told me was
not raccomended anymore.
The book itself is, anyway, a bit confusing in many parts, like when it
says "you could do like this, but this is better, oh and this is a even
better way to do it!", or sometimes lacking in a thread, just saying what
all the commands are. Or, some other times, just telling you "that's the
code", and not explaining any futher.

While looking for plugins, on the other hand many of them were out of date
(like istantpress, simplrCMS), or abandoned, or totally lacking of
documentation.

All that said, I wonder: why doesn't this community have a wikia? Wouldn't
that be a simple and easy to update way of keeping documentation and track
of all that needs to be known to develop in web2py?

Right now for a plugin or general information about web2py I need to follow
several blogs, articles, this google group and the book.
It's a bit confusing and while I keep informing, some others may find it a
good reason to use Django instead, or other frameworks.

Please don't take what I say as a way of discredit anyone who worked with
this project.
I sincerly like it and I thank every person who used his time to make it
better.
I just find that a more centralized documentation would be helpful for the
beginners.

All the best,
Manuel
