the " from operator import _compare_digest as compare_digest" is documented on the interwebs.... just google it... "standard issues" are playing with different versions of python in the same server. the "how do I run it not from root".... well. Don't start uwsgi while logged in as root ! You stated this is the result of installing nginx+uwsgi using "the script on a test server" ............ if the script is this <https://github.com/web2py/web2py/blob/master/scripts/setup-web2py-nginx-uwsgi-ubuntu.sh> it has the correct permissions to AVOID running as root.... if the script is another one..... it's wrong.
