I managed to find the cause of the bug.

The editor fails if web2py's path has non-standard characters.
- Works correctly if installed on *c:\banana\web2py*
- Editor save hangs on syntax errors if installed on *c:\plátano\web2py*

I'll create the github ticket as soon as possible.
