Having run web2py on Mac and windows effortlessly ... I expected the same on Ubuntu... but... I found it a bit harder to get running.
Ubunto Desktop works great on old Windows machines, and it is fun to play with. I bought a used $30 computer and installed Ubunto and was impressed with how fast it installed, and ran. *Here is an easy way to get web2py working on Ubuntu. * My Ubuntu Desktop Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit Kernel Linux 3.8.0-29-generic GNOME 3.4.2 See image below. You can just search for "System Monitor" and then "System tab" Steps to get web2py working I followed these steps, with just a few changes... https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Web2Py Changes: *Step 3 Add the following to the bottom of your .bashrc file: * Add the following to the bottom of your .bashrc file:..
