Saying "it is only a teaching tool" without explaining why seems to imply that we, the developers, are saying so. Well, we are not saying that. We never did.
One thing is saying that web2py was originally created as a teaching tool (true) another is to dismiss web2py as only a teaching tool (false). It has evolved a lot from its origins thanks to the contribution of many people here. It has its strengths and it has it weaknesses. The fact that it still easy to read and understand it a strength and continue to make it a good teaching tool. This is the very same reason web2py is good for business applications. Web2py is a good teaching tool BECAUSE it is a good business tool.
