So it does seem to be the case that I implemented the standard method of embedding a feed correctly, and I can't find any issue with the HTML (not that this guarantees there isn't an issue). I tried a couple of other RSS readers, and they seem to be picking it up with no problem, so I guess you're right that I should check into whether there's something about Sage in particular that's problematic.
