You're basically suggesting a design change from a list to a grid..? I'm 
not sure I'd agree, especially if the grid would be as busy as the one 
you've used as an example, but the admin is just an application, you can 
submit patches. Which might or might not get included :)

Sorting alphabetically up or down is fairly simple and could be invoked 
every time, but drag and drop makes sense only if ordering is retained 
across sessions. How would you handle this?

I sometimes wish the admin would remember if, for example, views for an app 
are collapsed and controllers are not, etc. But I never wished it enough to 
code it. ;)

Generally speaking, I kinda like the admin's design to be as minimalistic 
as possible.
