that's how populate works. if it finds "name" in the field, it uses a 
different pattern to fill it.
same thing happens for field containing "url" and "email"

It's a non-issue since the generated data is meant to be totally bogus.

PS: web2py's source code is open-source. You have it on your disk ... read 
it :P 
gluon/contrib/populate.py is where to look (line 185 and following)
