Thanks for opening the issue Niphlod. While I realise that not all files defining views will end in .html I think it is not unreasonable that files ending in .bak or ~ be excluded from compilation. The web2py IDE already seems to know that such files should be ignored since they are not displayed within the IDE. Rick --
