The patch (up-to-date to revision 584 of trunk) is available here: http://sites.google.com/a/benn.ca/file-locker/file-cabinet/web2py_EditArea_patch.zip > Instead of the static/...ini file can you place the configurations in > models/0.py where the other settings are? Ok, this has been fixed. Now it's the following files that have been modified (no new files have been added): web2py\applications\admin\controllers\default.py web2py\applications\admin\models\0.py web2py\applications\admin\views\default\edit.html I found a web2py bug while I was working: While making the change to transfer the preferences from user_preferences.ini to the model file 0.py, I made a syntax error in 0.py. Then when attempting to go to the Admin Application through my browser I got an error ticket. When i tried to access the error ticket I got another error ticket--in an infinite series. To figure out what I did wrong I had to run web2py through my Eclipse debugger.
