Yarko, thanks, but I'm not sure I understand your answer. Here's what I want to do.
An object contains zero or more other objects. The root object should have oid=0. The child objects should have oid=db.object.id. I want to set the parent object according to a drop-down menu showing the name of the parent object OR have the name be blank if the object is a root object.
