My bad.

Per revision 190, see revision 165, the message that you replaced it with is not quite what it was (small consequence).

Wouldn't it be more flexible to make a custom error message in rewrite?   Like so:

error_message_custom = "<html><body><h1>Invalid request</h1>%s</body></html>"

That way we retain custom error message-ability.  Of course the supporting code will need to be there (see rewrite.py lines 18-19).
