Thanks Bill I also wonder if rest has some roots in SEO as I know from previous work I have done with search engine optimisation that slashes are a lot better than & or $ for traversing. Google has overcome this but Yahoo, MSN and a whole host of smaller search engines just do not traverse non slash based sites well at all.
I think the whole search thing is starting to hot up even more as richer more dynamic content becomes available online. Search engines (esp google) have put millions of dollars into algorithms to determine relevancy, changeability and hot information. This sort of search openness behind a secure site is not that relevant...so my thoughts are that rest is also an attempt at putting a framework in place for callings services...in practical terms though establishing the handshake protocol has not been formalised on a web global basis and is not part of the w3 standard as yet. Keep the feedback coming and you will beat me too it... --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "web2py Web Framework" group.
