I am reading a novel about World War 1 in France. It is about the medical treatment of wounded soldiers, and the commander of this large medical unit is Colonel Fife.
Now we all know that Otis Campbell is the direct descendant of the Revolutionary War hero Nathan Tibbs. But maybe, just maybe, Barney is the direct descendant of a World War 1 hero, Colonel Fife. I know Colonel Fife was French, but with all that begatten, some Fife must have eventually found there way to the good U.S.A.
