October 3, 1960 was the very first episode of The Andy Griffith Show and we
have benefited from it.

Ken Anderson that was great article about small town grocery stores.
Growing up in Nashville in the late 1960-1970's, there was a local grocery
about 2 blocks away from my home. I knew the owner and the store clerks by
first name and yes they knew me too.
Ken not sure if you noticed the article was by Ken Aderson, not Anderson.
But boy he sure did look like you. hahaha.
Where my Granny lived there was a grocery store just like Mr. Foley's. You
handed your list to the owner, Hardin, and he would fill your order or you
could call and he would do the same for you. Hardin would let the kids
behind the counter to pick out what candy they wanted to buy. Fond memories.

I would also like to see the articles Dewey Lamb made for Mayberry Days.

Have a Mayberry kind of day.
Margaret
Floyd: "I'm going to Nashville."
Margaret: I already live in Nashville
