I have to admit that this is something I had never thought about before! I will have to keep a sharp eye out for this in the future. There is at least one exception to this that I know right now, though. If you look at the scene in "Man in a Hurry" where Mr. Tucker is listening to the Mendlebright sisters on the phone and you see the table in the background where Andy, Barney, and Opie are sitting and beginning to eat, you can see that there is a glass of something next to Opie's plate.
