On Sunday, my teenage daughter invited a couple of girlfriends over for lunch.
During lunch, one of the girls was mentioning a boy she broke up with. The
boy's name was Jubal. Of course, I immediately started saying, "Jubal, Jubal,
Jubal," like Barney in "Keeper of the Flame" and then started laughing. I
explained that the name Jubal made me think of an episode of "The Andy Griffith
Show." My daughter said, "Mom, they won't know what you're talking about."
The one girl said, "Oh, yes, I know what she's talking about!" and the other
girl chimed in, "Me, too!" Well, that just warmed my heart to know that
today's youngsters still know about and watch the greatest show on TV. Really
gave me hope for the future.
