I was watching "The Christmas Story" episode the other day and heard something that I had not picked up on before. Ben Weaver was wanting Sam Muggins arrested for making moonshine. He said something about store owners having a hard time selling their "spirits" because people like Sam were making their moonshine illegally. If Mayberry is a dry county, then how can the store owners sell "spirits".
