The film is based on a true story told to me by a friend's father, who knew
John Wallace. It was the first conviction of a white man for murder or an
African-American in the State of Georgia. The movie is based on the book by
the same name by Atlanta reporter Margaret Ann Barnes. Coweta County is just
South of Atlanta and the county seat is Newnan, GA. I worked at the hospital
for the County EMS in the 70's when I was in paramedic school. Steve

After all these years of trying to find Mr. Schwamps identity, if it ever
does happen I think it might be a let down. Kind of like when Howard caught
old Sam. Don't you reckon?
But I recently saw a picture of Jerry Mathers as an adult. By golly, the
resemblance is stunning. Maybe Jerry Mathers daddy did a little acting like
Ron Howards daddy.

Really neat to see the old cars and the way people dressed and such.
Sheriff Wallace ( Andy Taylor ) was an EVIL EVIL Sheriff !
Bad Sheriff ! haha
Wonder if Coweta County was a reference to Sheriff Wallaces cow getting
stolen for which the thief got murdered . ???
Hope yall see the movie. Johnny Cash did well acting too.
