Here are two more things that just don't make sense. Why would a bookie set up his operation in a barber shop, on Main Street, next to the Courthouse, and in town. And why would this brilliant bookie collect his money right in the barber chair in front of a large window that faces Main Street. Why not just get a place in the country or just a house or apartment somewhere that wouldn't be so conspicuous.
The very same thing is true about the two dumb counterfeiters. Why even set up a phony business at all when all you had was that one little printing machine and the money plates? Why be on Main Street? Why hire a receptionist who you don't need? They could have set up that operation in any house down in the basement and no one would have been the wiser. Why go through all the trouble of staging a phony movie company to knock off the Mayberry Bank? Why get involved with the sheriff and deputy? They were able to get into the bank unnoticed, so why did they have to go through all that other baloney? Why would you pretend to be an FBI agent and get the police department and the entire town involved in your plan to rob the bank? You were able to get into the bank with no trouble and you were able to open the safe with no trouble, so why did you have to set up the phony award ceremony and all that? Sure were a lot of dumb crooks coming to Mayberry. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
