Imagine my surprise when Dennis H. informed me via Facebook that I had been chosen as the recipient of the annual Jim Schwenke Memorial Award.
I stand before you a humble man, all choked up with humbleness and humility. I no longer have a Mayberry room (I used to have TWO Mayberry rooms, but three years ago I lost most everything in them, along with the rooms themselves, and the rest of the house) but I do have a Mayberry shelf, and that's where the plaque will be displayed. For them that don't know, Jim Schwenke was a Mayberry fan from Texas who passed away about a dozen years ago. The award was created in his memory.
