I just wanted to share my Mayberry moment with you. My son is 22 and while he has been watching the Andy Griffith show with me since he was a baby he doesn't do so that much anymore. Well, he has started dating a very nice young lady and while we were talking about her the day after I met her he said Mom, you are not going to believe this! I was alarmed and thought oh no, what dont I know here. He continued on to say, would you believe she had never watched the Andy Griffith Show!!?? My first thought was I will send her some of my DVDs so she can watch. When I told him that I would give them to him to take to her he said oh no, I had her watch an episode right away! She had to know who Andy was. The added bonus for me was that he showed her the Christmas episode, my personal favorite. When my children were growing up we watched Andy all of the time because honestly, it was one of the few things I felt I could put on the TV and walk away and not worry about what they were going to see. It makes me very proud to know that even though young people are exposed to a lot of bad things he chose to watch The Andy Griffith Show!
