Good day good folks of Mayberry. For the next few upcoming digests I plan to answer some of the deep mysteries that have plagued us for a long time. I have been wearing my thinking bucked a lot and I have come up with some answers.
Mystery Number 1: Why do people's feet fall asleep? Answer: Many people say this is because you've cut off the blood supply to your foot, but your nerves are more to blame. Nerves are like tiny threads or wires that run through your whole body, and they carry messages back and forth between you and your brain and your body. When you sit on your foot, you temporarily compress, or squash, the nerves in that area. These nerves can't send messages back to the brain normally, and so for the moment, the connection is cut off and you don't feel anything. It's kind of like a phone call where your friend hangs up and you haven't yet: Your brain is saying "hello," but your foot isn't able to answer. So there you have it, so I hope we can finally put this question to rest, or better yet, to sleep. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
